    This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 8:58am CST.

    I've decided to test out a new idea over the next two weeks and YOU are invited to join me.

    2. Who you are looking for as a guest for your show.

    3. Who you are a great fit for as a podcast guest.

    4. How we can reach out and connect with you.

    This week we are going to talk about podcast monetization.

    I know this is always a hot topic, but it seems like many of you have noticed that things have been a little more difficult these past 12-ish months when it comes to making money from our content.

    I'm hearing a lot of concerns about how things like AI, the economy, etc are impacting our ability to run a profitable online business.

    So I thought today would be a great opportunity to discuss four questions that I use as a filter when I'm trying to figure out my next steps with my business strategy.

    Now I'm going to warn you ahead of time....these are SIMPLE questions....but sometimes that is exactly what we need in times when we are in our own head about our business.

     

    📌 Question #1: What is currently working well with your business strategy?

    It can be really easy to just scream NOTHING IS WORKING ADAM!!!!!

    I feel you Pod Pals....but I need you to really think about this and find something that we can build upon here.

    Maybe a recent episode had more downloads or you had someone make a purchase.

    For me this is what seems to be working well right now:
    ✅ My Podcast Content To Clients Workshop is going really well and we had 28 people sign up.

    ✅ My group coaching clients LOVE having Office Hours access each week and I can see how much this feature is helping them get faster results.

    ✅ I'm seeing success with offers that cover a single very specific strategy like: how to launch your podcast, how to double your downloads, how to create a podcast + newsletter strategy.

    🎯 Key Action Step: Once you find something that is working, try to reverse engineer it and figure out WHY it is working well.

     

    📌 Question #2: What isn't working?

    We all have NO problem making this list...😆

    Here's what my list currently looks like:

    😢 Trying to promote my group coaching program as an entry point. I have people signing up, but many times they need to do another more targeted program first.

    😢 Selling my Course + Coaching programs like my Podcast Growth Bootcamp. I seriously thought that you guys would be scooping these up because of the low price and the amount of access to me but....WRONG...😆

    😢 Selling a sub $100 offer directly from my Threads posts. I still have high hopes for this strategy, but I'm currently in the "figuring it out" phase...to be continued!

    🎯 Key Action Step: At least ONE of the above probably feels like it actually SHOULD be working. Lock in on that one as we move to the next question.

     

    📌 Question #3: What feels like it should be working, but isn't for some reason?

    This is my favorite of the four questions! I think we all have that one offer that really feels like a winner.

    🏆 The content is high value.

    🏆 The price is right.

    🏆 We see other people having success with a similar type of offer.

    🎯 Key Action Step: It's easy to get frustrated around this situation which is why this is a great point to tag in some help from a coach, mentor, mastermind members, etc.

    Many times we are just too close to it....and we need someone else's ideas and perspective to help us make a necessary tweak.

    For me I'd have to say that not being able to effectively sell a sub $100 offer directly from Threads is the thing that feels like it should be working.

    So, I've invested in a couple of online courses to help me dial in my strategy AND I've booked a podcast guest to come on my show that is seeing huge success with this strategy!

     

    📌 Question #4: What new experiments might be worth a try?

    This one should tie into Question #1 a little bit. We can take a piece of what is already working and try something new to see if we get a positive result.

    Here's what this looks like for me:

    I mentioned earlier that offers that promise to deliver a really specific result seem to be selling well right now. 

    I also know that the more access to me, the better my offers sell (and I can charge more!).

    So this Spring/Summer I'm going to run a few new offer experiments that involve a short burst (probably 14 days) of 1:1 coaching with me. 

    I know one of them will focus on helping you create an offer, optimize it, and sell it from your show......stay tuned!

    🎯 Key Action Step: June/July are usually a great time to experiment a little bit with something new either with your content and/or your offers.

    These are traditionally lower sales volume months but you can reverse this trend by giving your audience something totally new/different.

     

    I hope that these four questions help you gain some clarity (and relax a little bit!!!).....hang in there Pod Pals! The only way we can lose is if we stop trying!

    Over the past 11 years I've been through lots of business cycles of highs/lows and you can feel free to plug into my positive momentum and leverage that until you build up your own....I've got your back!
