podcast growth podcast marketing Oct 30, 2025

    Hey Pod Pals!

This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 8:45am CST.

Fall weather (along with my fall allergies) are in full effect here in Missouri.

I did my brisk morning walk outside and promptly came in to do my Neti Pot and take my Allegra.....LOL.

Real quick before we dive into this week's topic.... ⤵️

I'm focused on helping podcasters SOLVE these four specific problems:

    1. How to optimize your podcast launch.

    2. How to grow your podcast past 1,000 downloads per episode.

    3. How to convert more podcast listeners into paying clients.

    4. How to simplify your online business so it feels easy, lucrative, and fun.

If you want to explore how we can work together to solve these problems hop on my free Podcast Profit Potential Discovery Call calendar.

This week we are going to address this problem:

🚨 How do I get my podcast over 1,000 downloads per episode?

In my previous entrepreneurship life, I owned a bootcamp fitness facility for 16 years.

Most of my 500+ clients wanted to get healthy by dropping some weight....and my program was REALLY good at helping them do this.

Our 8,000 square foot facility was literally wallpapered with transformation pics, and I helped my hometown lose over 35,000 lbs.

I had a ton of success, but there were always a few clients that really struggled to make progress.

These situations required us to do an analysis of what factors could potentially be holding back their progress.

We would eventually get things figured out and the client would have a clear path to progress.

With today's newsletter we are going to do the same thing for your PODCAST GROWTH.

Let's find out what might be holding you back from getting better audience growth results!

Here are five things that could be the reason why your audience growth is stalled out:

✅ 1. The name of your podcast is hurting, not helping, your growth.

Most new podcasters get cute/creative with the name of their show and this is a HUGE roadblock to growth because they aren't accessing the #1 (and FREE) growth lever: Organic Discovery.

Instead of creatively naming your show, I want you to strategically name your show by using my Perfect Podcast Naming Formula.

When I read the name of your show:

-I need to know EXACTLY what the show is about.

-I need to know EXACTLY who the show is for.

-I need to see at least one (but hopefully two) highly searched keywords within your content niche.

    How important is this?

Let me put it this way...if you decide to hire me to launch or rebrand your show, I will not work with you if you will not use this exact formula.

I've had clients double, triple, and even 10x their downloads in a matter of WEEKS by using this formula.

📌 Here's my template I like to use:

(Highly searched keyword) tips/conversations/strategies for (Keyword + Identifying term).

    Examples:

(Online Marketing) strategies for (single parents).

(Social Media) tips for (pediatric dentists).

(Podcast Guesting) strategies for (new authors).

✅ 2. You aren't promoting your content enough.

I'd like to acknowledge that you are currently doing the best that you can. I know many of you are side hustling with a TON on your plate.

That being said...we have to promote our content.

Too many podcasters are out there putting so much effort into content creation and then they don't tell anyone about it.

If you combine this with a non strategically named show, it is a great recipe for CRICKET stew!

aka...nobody can find it organically AND we aren't telling anyone about it either.

📌 Here's what I want you to do instead: Use my 72 Hour Promotion Strategy.

The goal (that you can work up to) is to have FIVE unique promotion assets for each episode and release them into the wild within 72 hours of the episode going live.

You need to create promotional assets (video clips, carousel posts, quotes, etc) that make sense for the social media platforms that you are on.

Example: Do NOT post your episode video clips on Threads...it's a TEXT based platform.

✅ 3. Your content topic is too broad.

If your show is for "everyone" and about "all sorts of stuff"...nobody will listen.

Having a broad topic is fine if podcasting is just a hobby for you, BUT if you are trying to make some damn money.....we need to pick a niche!

I was helping one of my clients work through this earlier this week.

📌 I had them consider these questions to help define their ideal listener avatar:

-What problems do you LOVE to solve for people?

-What type of clients can you help the FASTEST?

-What types of BIG problems do these clients have?

Let's dial in your niche topic, and rebrand your show with my Perfect Podcast Naming Formula from above.....

...now we are making some real progress!

    ✅ 4. You haven't reached 100 episodes yet.

Nobody even considers this when it comes to podcast growth!

Your show might not be growing simply because you haven't really figured out how to be a good podcaster yet!

Only 5% of everyone that launches a podcast gets past episode 100.

83% of podcasters quit before episode TEN.

📌 Here is a hard truth that more content creators across the board need to realize:

➡️ Nobody is entitled to audience growth.

Let that sink in for a second.

It took me at least 100 episodes to become even remotely skilled as a podcast content creator.

It took me three YEARS to make any money.

Success comes to those that are willing to persevere through the complete silence and lack of audience growth.

Use this time to GET BETTER as a content creator.

    ✅ 5. You aren't leveraging other people's audiences.

To put it simply: Collaboration = Growth.

With my growth focused coaching clients we usually set a goal for them to be a guest on between 1-4 podcasts per month.

If you aren't doing any content collabs like podcast guesting, social media promo swaps, newsletter promo swaps, etc...you need to start getting yourself in front of more potential collab partners.

📌 How can you do this?

    -Attend workshops/events within your niche.

-Use my Strategic Podcast Guest Invite strategy with top ranked podcasters.

-Reach out to content creators whose content that you like consuming (podcasts, social media, newsletters) and inquire about collab ideas/opportunities.

*Be sure to approach potential collab partners by adding value FIRST.

So there you have it Pod Pals!

🤩 Client Testimonial of the week: My client Dr Katrin Jahn has a show called the Veterinary Behaviour Chat podcast.

Check out what she has to say about working with me:

"I hired Adam because even though I knew I really wanted to start a podcast, I had no idea how to go about it. By working with Adam we've been able to plan out and coordinate our podcast launch really easily and effectively....and four days after launching, my show was ranked #3 in our category on Apple Podcasts!"
