podcast content ideas Apr 09, 2026

    Hey Pod Pals!

This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 9:51am CST.

I'm a little tardy to my newsletter party this AM....

I'm moving kinda slow after I spent a good part of my day yesterday in a battle of Man vs Mulch...😆

I had them dump the mulch in the driveway so that I was forced to defeat the Mulch Monster in order to get my car out of the garage!

Before we get started.....Ready to turn your podcast content into new CLIENTS?.. ⤵️

Join me on April 21-24 for my live 4-day virtual workshop: Podcast Content To Clients!

This four day workshop is for coaches, consultants, and service providers that want to learn how to leverage their show to get new clients.

If you are ready to start earning meaningful income from all of the effort you are putting into your podcast...this workshop is for YOU!

When I talk to my audience members out "in the wild" you all seem to be curious as to what my most up to date experiments and content strategies are.

So today I've cooked up a list of seven content strategies I'm doubling down on right now.

🎯 One podcast episode per week is my sweet spot.

It's officially been one year since I throttled back from doing two episodes every week and I can now confirm that this was 100% the correct move for me.

The really cool thing is that my monthly download numbers are now HIGHER than they were with only 50% of the monthly episodes.

🎯 I'm obsessed with mapping out my content 12 weeks in advance.

I created a content mapping Google doc for my clients and I get as much value out of it as anybody!

I've benefited greatly from aligning my content with my offers, CTA's, and even my testimonial audio clips.

🎯 CTA and episode topic alignment is very effective.

I've found that if you have something really specific that you want to promote on your podcast, it helps if your episode topic attracts the type of person that would take action on that specific call to action.

For example....right now my CTA is about my upcoming Podcast Content To Clients Workshop and my episodes have been focused on strategies to help podcasters leverage their show to get clients.

🎯 I love my two week buffer zone!

I've been coaching a couple of new podcasters through their launch process and we are setting them up with a two week content buffer right from the start.

When people ask me how I've been able to release an episode EVERY WEEK since 2015........it is 100% about having a content buffer to save my butt when life happens!

For me the sweet spot is having two weeks of content loaded up and ready to go in advance.

🎯 Testimonial audio clips allow my clients to do the selling for me.

Whenever I hear from a brand new podcast listener they always make a comment about how I start off every episode with a fresh client testimonial.

I'm doubling down on this strategy with Threads as well. I'm working on breaking up each client testimonial into one line of text that I can share on Threads every day.

🎯 We MUST create content each year about our core strategies.

One of my new clients was nervous about doing solo episodes.

The "I'm going to run out of stuff to say" fear hits us all....but the good news is that we SHOULD be repeating 5-10 core episode topics each year....maybe more!

Some of you just found my content this week....and I cannot expect you to go back and listen to all 615 episodes...(but feel free to try!)

This means that I have to create fresh episodes based on my high impact topics every year to make sure my newer audience members are exposed to the MAGIC!

*Note that I don't recommend re-releasing old episodes unless you absolutely have to. I like to create a fresh episode with my most up to date thoughts and strategies.

🎯 I'm spending more time thinking about my audience and what your content consumption experience is like.

This is one of the big reasons why I cut back from two episodes per week to just one.

I realized that you all listen to OTHER podcasts...😱

You also probably read OTHER newsletters and you follow lots of people on social media!! 😱😱😱

Before I release any sort of content I think about this question:

Am I adding value or am I adding to the noise?

Some of you may not realize that I actually send TWO newsletters per week...but the Monday newsletter only goes out to people that are actively opening my emails.

I don't want to send MORE emails to people that aren't already opening my Thursday newsletter!

So now that I've got your brain waves cooking a bit....let's take some action.

    1. What is something that is working really well for you right now with your content creation/business?

    2. What is something that feels H.A.L.F (hard, annoying, lame, & frustrating)??

    3. Take a break from the thing you identified in #2 and reinvest that time back into #1.

🤩 Client Testimonial of the week: My client Amy Sylvis has a show called Raising Capital for Real Estate Investing.

Check out what she has to say about doing 1:1 consulting with me:

"I hired Adam because I needed help with launching my podcast. The best part of working with Adam has been having the framework and not having to reinvent the wheel myself. There are proven tactics, strategies, and tools, and Adam handed them right to me! I highly recommend working with Adam if you're considering launching a podcast!"
