business tips podcast content ideas podcast monetization Feb 12, 2026

    Hey Pod Pals!

This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 9:28am CST.

As I scanned my email inbox this morning I came across an absolute GEM of an email from a "professional podcast promoter"...

"Hello Sir...I am proportional and expert podcast pomotir. I have long experience this service. Hire me??"

Looks like I found my next expert podcast guest!...😆

Real quick before we dive into this week's topic.... ⤵️

I love helping my clients set up a simple strategy to help them turn their content into new CLIENTS.

If you feel like you are ready for some help with your podcast monetization strategy, hop on my Podcast Profit Potential Discovery Call calendar.

This week we are going to dive into a little used monetization strategy that helps me earn thousands of extra $$$ per year!

What if I told you that you were potentially missing out on some serious online business revenue because of your SCHEDULING LINK PROCESS????😱

Pod Pals prepare to have your mind blown with three simple strategies to help you optimize the monetization potential of your scheduling process for your podcast interviews, discovery calls, and coaching episodes.

The best part is that you can have all of these optimizations in place within 15 minutes of reading this newsletter!

Let's look at your podcast interview scheduling process first.

💡IDEA #1: On your guest scheduling intake form include a question like this:

Would you like to upgrade to the VIP promo package for XYZ $$$?

I used this with my health podcast back in the day when I was doing weekly interview episodes.

I charged $300 and close to 50% of the guests opted in for this option because it would allow them to:

✔️Choose the date of the episode release.

✔️Get three extra promo assets customized for platforms of their choosing.

✔️A bonus email to my list where they got to write up a custom article and promote something they sell.

💡IDEA #2: If your guests also represent your ideal client avatar you must include a question that can open the door for a future discussion about your services.

Let's say that you are an Instagram specialist and you have a marketing podcast where you include this question in your guest intake form:

Are you currently happy with your growth and new client conversion strategy for Instagram? If not, would you be open to setting up an additional time to chat and discuss how I can help you out with this?

It is SO EASY to add a simple question like this and it's a simple Yes/No answer for them....no big deal!

If they answer YES then you simply just bring it up after the interview is over and set up a separate time to chat!

Let's look at your coaching episode scheduling process next!

I know that some of you are new to my content so a quick definition of a coaching episode:

This is where you invite an audience member onto your show and you coach them for free for 15-30 minutes.

These are NOT sales calls and I don't recommend that you ask for the sale during these recordings....BUT....that doesn't mean that we cannot ask a simple question during the onboarding process that might lead to a sale down the road.

💡IDEA: Add ONE simple question to your onboarding process that plants the seed for a future sale.

I like to use this checklist....

I provide the following services (check the ones you might be interested in discussing)

    -Podcast Launch consulting

    -Podcast Growth consulting

-Podcast Listener To Client Conversion consulting

-No thanks....let's just do the coaching session

I always add that last "opt-out" option at the end to take all the pressure off!

If someone checks one of the boxes I will simply bring that up after the coaching session is recorded and we can set up a separate time to chat about working together.

Let's wrap this one up with the BIG ONE...Discovery Calls!

💡IDEA #1: Make sure you don't give people too big of a signup window.

If someone wants to sign up for a discovery call they are at least a little bit serious about hiring you.....so we want to strike while their interest is peaked.

Don't give them an open calendar where they can sign up a month from now...I suggest a 5-10 day window.

💡IDEA #2: There are TWO really important questions that need to be added to your discovery call onboarding form:

The first one is what I call the "pain point checklist". For me it looks like this:

Please check any of the following areas where you feel like you could use some help:

    -Podcast launch optimization

    -Podcast growth optimization

-Podcast listener to client conversion optimization

Then we need to follow up with a very important question that most of you are NOT asking!!!!

What is your current budget for solving the pain point(s) you selected above?

Don't be nervous about asking this question. We aren't asking them how much money they make or how fancy of a car they drive...LOL!

Now here's one final pro tip so you don't screw up this final part:

Don't include "$0.00" in any of the budget range options.

    ❌ Example: $0.00 to $297

Let's say your cheapest program is $97. THAT should be the lowest budget range option included like this:

    ✅ $97 to $297

So with a few budget ranges included it might look like this:

    ✅ $97 to $297

    ✅ $297 to $997

    ✅ $997 to $2,997

    ✅ $2,997+

Just make sure that you actually have a program/service within each budget range.

We MUST ask these two questions so that we can understand their PAIN POINTS and the PRICE POINT for solving them.

This allows us to look at our services and see which one can solve their main pain point within their budget.

OK....time to take action! Now you can add these simple optimizations to your sign up process and make some extra $$$!
