audience engagement tips Jul 05, 2023
It is ALWAYS a good idea to make our audience a part of our show. Using audience audio clips is a great way to build expert positioning and create superfans of our show.
Here are FOUR ways to utilize audience audio clips on your podcast:
β 1. Have them record a quick intro for an upcoming episode. Provide a simple script to read like "Hey this is Joe from Boise, Idaho and you are listening to the latest episode of the Awesome Adam podcast."
β 2. Have them submit audio with an episode recommendation. These are great for encouraging a newer listener to start binge listening.
β 3. Have them submit a question that you will answer on the podcast. These Q&A episodes can be a regular part of your show or you can save them for a benchmark episode (episode 100, etc).
β 4. Have your clients record testimonial audio clips. These are especially helpful when you have a CTA for a paid offer or if you are in an open enrollment for a paid offer campaign. I would use these at the BEGINNING of an episode.
Pro Tip #1: Always provide a simple script for them to use.
Pro Tip #2: Ask them to keep their audio clip to 60 seconds or less.
Pro Tip #3: Create a spreadsheet to track what audio clips you have and when you aired them last. I highly encourage you to re-use all of these types of audio clips periodically.
I use the free version of the Speakpipe platform for all of the audio clips you hear on my show.
