Hey Pod Pals!
This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 8:36am CST.
I'm already one cold brew coffee to the good and I'm working on a second....let's start the party!
⭐️ This week we are going to talk about a brand new podcast monetization idea that I'm calling a Challenge Based Membership Offer.
Pod Pals I've been blessed with both a gift and a curse: I have SO many ideas!
I just don't have the time or capacity to implement them all in my own brand/podcast/business so this week I'm hoping that some of YOU take this idea and run with it...I think it's a winner!
Here are a couple of problems that I see with traditional online membership models:
❌ 1. They are too complex...there is too much stuff in there to even know where to start.
❌ 2. People get bored (or they aren't seeing results) and stop taking action.
I've got an idea to solve both of these issues and I'm calling it a Challenge Based Membership Model.
If I were using this method, here is EXACTLY how I would do it:
✅ 1. I would run a new 5-10 day challenge to kick off each month. The challenge needs to address a specific pain point that your audience has.
Example: If you have a personal growth brand you could do a 10 day meditation challenge.
I wouldn't recommend doing a challenge that lasts longer than 10 days....keep....it....simple!
✅ 2. I would do a community zoom chat to kick off the challenge, explain how it works, and answer questions.
✅ 3. I would use some kind of a support forum (FB group etc) so that members can report in each day of the challenge and be supported by the group members.
✅ 4. I would do a 2nd monthly community call towards the middle/end of each month to celebrate WINS from the previous challenge and preview next month's challenge.
✅ 5. I would price this in the $47-$97 per month range. If you are in the entrepreneurship/business space you can charge more than $97/month.
✅ 6. I would promote a "first challenge FREE" deal on my podcast, email list, and social media to get people to try out the membership.
✅ 7. Every once in a while I would take the recording from a monthly group zoom chat and release it as a podcast episode. My CTA for this episode would be the "first challenge free" deal.
✅ 8. I would let the community vote on a Challenge MVP each month. This person gets to do a bonus coaching session....which is released as a podcast episode. My CTA for this episode would be the "first challenge free" deal.
Pro Tip: Don't screw up this idea by making it more complicated with your 12 module online course.....save that for another offer.

😎 Podcast listener question of the week:
This week our question is from Kimberly Cain from the Naked Vibes podcast.
Here is Kimberly's question: "When we are looking at adding a title extension to our podcast name do we need to worry about having a title with too many words in it?"
Great question Kimberly!
If you want to play it super safe with the podcast police I would try to keep your podcast name to 5 words or less.
Here's a template:

Now that being said...I experiment a lot with my title extension and many times it will be pretty lengthy and I've never noticed any negative results.....or been arrested by the Podcasting Police. 🤞🏻
🚀 Podcast Launch Tip of the week:
I frequently get asked about whether or not you should release a "trailer" episode of your podcast before the actual launch week.
When someone works with me inside of my Podcast Launch Blueprint program we try to release "episode 001" about 4-7 days before the launch week.
I mainly do this so we can make sure everything is showing up correctly and looking good inside of Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
⭐️ In episode 077 of Podcast Launch Tips I do a deep dive on my entire trailer episode release strategy.
