This week we are going to dive into a simple strategy that I teach my clients to use so they can start getting clients and earning meaningful income from their show.
The goal: Get $1,000+ per month in new client revenue.
In my almost eleven years as a podcaster I've noticed one big glaring problem:
➡️ Very few podcasters are earning meaningful income.
You've all heard me tell the story about earning a TOTAL of $37.00 in my first three YEARS as a podcaster........that was not fun!
We all try things like:
-Getting sponsors
-Affiliate marketing
-Selling low/mid/high ticket offers of all kinds
There are a LOT of factors that go into what offers/strategies work for each of us individually.
So today I wanted to help you cut through some of the clutter and give you an example of a very simple offer that I see working for LOTS of my clients and audience members just like you.
Let's start off with a simple rule:
➡️ If your offer includes access to YOU in some way, your podcast audience will be much more likely to buy it.
I know we all want to go "full Porterfield" and create an amazing funnel that leads to a digital course product....
but that is just really hard to do right now....especially if you only have 82 people listening to your podcast.
So with that being said, here is a simple consulting offer that is working well for a lot of people just like YOU:
➡️ My 14-Day Simple Consulting Offer.
Here is how I like to structure the offer:
✔️ Clients will have access to you for a total of 14 days.
✔️ They will get two live 1:1 consulting sessions with you. I like to do a 45 minute session on day one and a follow up 15 min session around day eight.
✔️ They will be able to ask you questions via a messaging app like Voxer.
✔️ The goal price range is $500-$1,000.
Here are some advantages that come with this offer structure:
🎯 Normal consulting sessions are just a one off....and people ALWAYS have follow up questions.
This package allows for lots of time for follow up Q&A and implementation help over the 14-day period.
🎯 The perceived value is MUCH higher because of all of the access and the 14-day period.
This means we can feel very comfortable charging within that $500-$1,000 range. I've never had a client that hasn't been able to get into this price range with this type of an offer (business, health, spirituality, etc).
🎯 This offer gives you some flexibility because you can use it to help with solving various pain points.
For example: I can use my consulting offer to address different pain points like podcast launch, podcast growth, and podcast listener to client conversion strategies.
🎯 This offer transitions nicely into other offers.
Your clients will graduate from this offer and say "What's next Coach?". You can then introduce them to your group coaching, mastermind, or higher ticket consulting programs.
Here is a simple strategy to help you promote this new offer to your audience:
✔️ Record a solo or coaching podcast episode.
✔️ During that episode you will talk about some tips/strategies to help solve a pain point.
✔️ In your CTA mention that you are now doing some 1:1 consulting to help your audience members solve this pain point...a little FASTER.
You can follow this same formula with your email marketing and social media:
✔️ Create content that calls out a pain point.
✔️ CTA to your offer to get help for solving the pain point faster/easier/cheaper.
Now here's the mistake you are going to make:
✅ You will put this simple offer together.
❌ You will talk about it on your podcast ONCE.
😢 Nobody will buy.
😡 You will say "Adam you suck man! This idea didn't work for me!"
Here's what I'd love to see you try instead of what I just described above:
➡️ Create your simple consulting offer and use my simple marketing formula for 8-12 weeks in a row.
Now (in the name of leading by example!)...if you could use some help with putting together your offer, naming it, pricing it, and marketing it...
