business tips podcast monetization Dec 11, 2025

    Hey Pod Pals!

This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 8:29am CST.

We are going to be chatting about making money with this newsletter today, but I'm also a big believer in sharing my wealth to help out families in my local community.

Today I'm going to head down to the local elementary school and anonymously donate money to pay off lunch account debt for families that are having a hard time this year.

For me it feels really great to help a few families relieve some financial stress during the holiday season.

So if you are looking for an opportunity to be charitable, I highly recommend that you give this a try!

Real quick before we dive into this week's topic.... ⤵️

I love helping my clients improve their ability to convert their podcast listeners into paying clients for their programs and services.

If you feel ready for some help with this type of monetization strategy hop on my Podcast Profit Potential Discovery Call calendar.

This week we are going to answer this question:

Do we HAVE TO create video content in order to get new clients?

I feel like the message that we MUST create video content has grown even louder this year.

Have you been feeling the video content FOMO?

I'm most definitely seeing social media messaging that makes me feel like I'm a complete idiot if I'm not posting videos on Spotify or doing highly edited content for Youtube.

So with our little chat today I'm going to give you some examples to prove that we CAN earn plenty of money without creating any video content at all.

I want to start with this gentle reminder for all podcasters:

➡️ Building a giant audience is only important for podcasters that are dependent on sponsorship based income.

You HAVE TO have the bigger numbers for sponsors to pay you.

Now, if you are like me, and you've kicked the sponsors to the curb...we can monetize with a significantly smaller audience by promoting our own programs and services.

So this should help us all take some pressure off of ourselves to "do all the things" and "be everywhere".....when it comes to creating video content, etc.

This also needs to be said: If you LOVE creating video content then by all means please keep doing it.

I'm not anti-video content.......I'm just anti 👉 people feeling like they have to create video content.

If you feel like you die a little bit inside for every hour you spend editing content for Youtube, IG Reels, etc......then let's explore some non-video opportunities together!

I recently racked up $15,300 in new clients all from non video content. Let's unpack where each new client came from:

💰 New Clients #1 & #2 both heard me as a guest on another podcast.

My go-to strategy when I'm a guest on another show is to send that audience to a SPECIFIC episode of my own podcast as a next step call to action.

I evaluate what the main discussion topic was during the interview and I provide ONE episode of my show that makes sense as a next step (and has a specific call to action within it).

So these two individuals heard me as a guest on one of their favorite shows and decided to listen to the specific episode that I recommended.

During that episode there was a call to action to sign up for a discovery call to explore working together. They both signed up for a chat and then became clients.

💰 New Client #3 found me via searching "Podcasting Tips" on Apple Podcasts.

This is why I talk so much about SEO and Organic Discovery!!!

They have been binge listening to my episodes for months and eventually signed up for a discovery call.

During the discovery call they mentioned that my Podcast Audit coaching episodes really sold them on the fact that I was the person they wanted to hire.

💰 New Client #4 found me on Threads.

They saw me drop a helpful comment on someone else's post and they decided to follow my account.

Eventually they saw a call to action to sign up for this newsletter.

Then they saw a call to action within this newsletter to sign up for a discovery call and they became a new client.

Here is a list of four non-video content strategies that are regularly getting me new clients:

✔️ 1. Weekly audio only podcast episodes.

✔️ 2. Weekly high value newsletter content.

✔️ 3. Daily high value add content on Threads.

✔️ 4. Guesting on 1-4 podcasts per month.

Three things for you to think about as your homework for today:

✔️ 1. Think about where your new clients are actually coming from.

✔️ 2. Identify at least ONE time consuming activity that is definitely NOT producing new clients/business that you can put on pause for at least a month.

✔️ 3. Take the time saved from step #2 and reinvest it into step #1 above.

🤩 Client Testimonial of the week: My client Dr Steve Hughlett has a show called Nutrition Prescription: Wellness vs Medications.

Check out what he has to say about being in my group coaching program:

"Hiring Adam has helped us in so many ways... from launching our podcast to teaching us how to actually make a living doing what we love! He really listens to us and takes the time to understand what we need as clients. He knows we do our best when we can focus on one thing at a time and he's great at helping us figure out exactly what our next steps should be.
