⭐️ This week we are starting a content series on how to make meaningful income with a podcast at the center of your brand.
With this content series we are going to start small and build up with the financial goals. This week on the show I mapped out a game plan to help you make your first $1,000 (more on that later...) and a key part of this game plan is using Discovery Calls effectively.
Here are three tips to help you improve your discovery calls so you can ramp up your revenue generation:
✅ Tip #1: Have a dialed in onboarding process that happens before your discovery call session. As people sign up for a discovery call with me I always have them fill out two specific questions:
Question #1: What is the #1 pain point you are experiencing right now?
Question #2: If I have a program or service that can help you solve this pain point what is your current budget range that you can allocate to solving this issue and moving forward past it?
If you can go into the session with this type of information you will have a much better conversation and a higher chance that you can match the correct service that you provide to their specific issue and budget.
✅ Tip #2: You must name your discovery call something other than just a "discovery call". This will help you to attract the correct people to sign up for the session and it will also help your audience differentiate between the discovery call and a coaching style episode.
Example: My coaching style episode on my show is called a Podcast Audit. My discovery call is called The Podcast Profit Potential Discovery Call.
✅ Tip #3: Have a specific game plan for executing the discover call session. Here is what I do personally:
First I help them identify their main pain point and discuss why this is the issue to focus on right now.
Second I identify the solution path that I would recommend that they take.
Third I will discuss a program or service that I provide that fits within their budget range and will help them along the solution path that we just discussed.
