Hey Pod Pals!
This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 9:23am CST.
I'm a bit tardy to the newsletter party today because I've been providing feedback all morning inside of my free Skool community.
We have been doing a 3-day podcast SEO challenge and over the past 48 hours alone I've answered 250+ questions in the group discussion... LOL!
I think we are going to have some pretty crazy podcast growth results come out of this challenge and I will be excited to share them with you in an upcoming newsletter!
It would be even better if you joined us....
Go watch the 3 training videos....and YOU could be getting some awesome results!
Just sayin!
📈 Today we are going to talk about how uncomfortable I get when it's time to SELL! 😱
This has always been a problem for me, Pod Pals!
It doesn't matter how many times I watch the movie Wolf Of Wall Street...I still suck at selling!
😱I failed at funnels!
😱 I want to run and hide at the end of webinars!
and selling from the stage...forget about it! 😱😱😱
In order to pay the bills and feed my family I've had to figure out my own way of making sales....
and the key is that it has to feel REALLY non-salesy for it to work for me!
Non-Salesy FOMO(fear of missing out) seems to be the golden ticket for me right now!
So today I'm going to break down a couple of ways I'm leveraging this strategy that seem to be working.
My basic strategy is as follows:
✔️ Make something awesome and invite others to join the party.
✔️ When cool things happen at the party, I tell everyone about it.
Let's use my new community on Skool as an example.
I've created a pretty awesome "party" on that platform and we've added 300+ podcasters over the last 30 days.
It's the fastest growing community for podcasters on the entire Skool platform. 😎
For the last several weeks I've been leveraging Non-Salesy FOMO by inviting all of you to my 3-day Podcast SEO Challenge.
I've been blabbing about this challenge for the last three weeks every day on social media, on my podcast, and in this newsletter.
Podcasters have been made well aware that, if they want FREE help from a podcasting expert (with 1 MILLION+ downloads), they had better join and take action.
None of this promotion has felt "salesy" to me because of two factors:
***Wait until next week's newsletter where I unpack how one of the community members just 7x'd her weekly podcast numbers from ONE tip I gave her.
Now let's discuss another Non-Salesy FOMO strategy that is actually helping me make money directly.
The neat thing about the Skool platform is that it allows me to have multiple tiers of community access.
Our free tier is super rowdy and full of great discussion along with a monthly workshop/challenge like we are doing this week.
But I'm also able to have two more paid tiers where I can provide more coaching, resources, and access to me.
My Premium Tier is just $9/month right now. At this level community members get access to my best courses and a weekly group training with me.
Here's where the Non-Salesy FOMO comes in:
➡️ I've alerted the community that on August 26th (my birthday) I'm raising the price to $19/month and it will be at $59/month by the end of the year.
I'm basically saying: "Hey community...right now I'm WAAAY over delivering at the $9/month price point. I want to reward early adopters by letting you lock in that cheaper price point for as long as you want to be a member at that tier level."
Since I've been clearly communicating how the price ramp up will work, I'm getting lots of daily conversions to the paid tier.
I'm well on my way to earning my Skool 🍀 emoji status...IYKYK!
So the quick recap on this example would be:
✔️ 1. Start an awesome party with a really low price of entry.
✔️ 2. Make sure the party over-delivers in a HUGE way for the price of entry.
✔️ 3. Let everyone outside of the party know that the ticket price is going up on a specific date, but they can lock in the lower price by being an early party joiner.
Last thing for you to think about today:
👉 Are you selling to your audience?
👉 Or are you creating something special and inviting your audience to be a part of it?
That second one feels a LOT better to me Pod Pals!
Talk to you next week!
Your Pod Pal,
Adam
