business tips podcast monetization Aug 13, 2026

Hey Pod Pals!
This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 8:01am CST.
It's been a busy morning already!
I've been chatting with my 1:1 consulting clients on Voxer and I've already answered six questions inside of my Skool community!
I also saw a giant rainbow on my morning walk so I believe that's a good omen for this newsletter.
SO...Let's dive in!
📈 Today we are going to talk about about using your podcast to start getting CLIENTS!
I've said it a million times before and I will keep saying it:
The FASTEST path to earning meaningful income as a podcaster is to leverage your show to get clients and/or sell your programs, products, and services.
Many of you read my recent newsletter case study about my client Amy whose podcast averages less than 100 downloads per episode...
and she just made $15,000 from a three episode content campaign where she sold her new program to her podcast listeners.
So let's unpack a couple of SIMPLE strategies for how YOU can leverage your show to get clients.
Let's talk about getting 1:1 coaching/consulting clients first.
For some reason I have a lot of clients that don't want to offer 1:1 coaching....and I think that's a mistake.
They tend to say things like:
"Adam...1:1 coaching isn't scalable."
Then I gently remind them:
"Right now you are earning $0.00 per month...so let's worry about STARTING before scaling." 😉
But seriously Pod Pals...1:1 coaching and consulting is, in my opinion, the EASIEST kind of an offer to sell to your podcast listeners.
Let's list some facts:
-These people are listening to YOU on YOUR show.
-They would LOVE to have more access to YOU.
-They can't get direct access to the other big "fancy" podcasters unless they pay a bajillion dollars.
➡️ This means that YOU have a unique opportunity to put out a "less than one bajillion dollar" offer and have success.
I love to steer my new clients towards a $1,500+ price point for 1:1 consulting offers.
Now here is the recipe I give my clients that want to use their podcast to sell 1:1 coaching/consulting offers:
✔️ 1. Start each episode with a client testimonial audio clip.
Make this the very first thing your listeners hear.
If you are brand new and don't have any clients just put this on hold until you've collected 3-5 testimonials and then start rotating them through.
✔️ 2. Do a casual CTA in the intro to your Discovery Call link.
I've found that it is much easier to sell 1:1 offers via a discovery call than directly from a link in your show notes.
Trust me...this extra step is worth it! 💰😉
✔️ 3. Follow my 2/3 Content Rule which states that at least 2/3 of your episodes will position YOU as the expert.
2/3: Solo or coaching episodes.
1/3 (or less): Interview based episodes.
*Also consider doing case study episodes with current/past clients where you unpack a successful result they've had from being your client.
✔️ 4. Use client stories as examples as often as possible within ALL of your content.
This includes your podcast, newsletter, and social media.
*I strongly suggest that you only have ONE single call to action in the entire episode: Discovery Call.
We want to get in lots of reps with the discovery call CTA.
Do NOT distract your audience away from this with your lead magnets, other offers, social media links, etc.
Now let's talk about a strategy that I recommend using for offers like group coaching, memberships, or communities.
✔️ 1. Again...start every episode with a client testimonial.
Once you get enough of them you can add one to the outro as well for bonus expert positioning points!
✔️ 2. Do a casual CTA at the start of your episode where you name drop your offer.
✔️ 3. Apply the 2/3 Content Rule...with a twist.
I want you to invite your group coaching/community clients to do coaching episodes with you.
This is a special bonus for your clients and it is also one GIANT testimonial for the program as a podcast episode!
Coach them for 15-30 minutes and at the end just ask them to talk about their experience within the community.
✔️ 4. As you close out the show try to offer up a special deal for your group offer.
This can be a discount code, free trial, etc.
✔️ 5. Try to do these special coaching episodes at least once per month within your podcast content rotation.
Ok Pod Pals...now you've got the playbook for creating podcast content that will help you get clients!
If you could use a little help with all of this.....
