  • ⭐️Why Less But BETTER is working for me in 2025⭐️

    May 08, 2025

    Hey Pod Pals!

This newsletter was lovingly curated (without the use of any AI) in real time on Thursday morning at 8:41am CST.

The kids are off to start their last month of 4th and 8th grade...I can't believe it! I'm going to have a kid in high school this fall!

I took a little morning stroll and now my cold brew coffee is positively impacting my brain mojo....time to write!

This week's newsletter is being sponsored by ME. ⤵️

This week we are going to talk about why the concept of doing LESS but BETTER is really working for me and my business in 2025.

So here's the huge problem that I'm seeing in both the podcaster/content creator & online business owner space:

👉 We all feel the FOMO (fear of missing out) and we put a ton of pressure on ourselves to be EVERYWHERE and do ALL OF THE THINGS.

Honestly....many of us became entrepreneurs so that we could be our own boss....and I'm going to challenge you to consider this question: Are you being a shitty boss to yourself?

If your 9am-5pm job has turned into a 5am-9pm entrepreneurial journey through hell... this week's newsletter is for YOU!

The obvious solution is staring us all right in the face:

👉 We need to do less and be more effective and efficient with the things that we ARE doing.

The real trick is figuring out a systematic way to approach this and figure out the HOW of actually pulling this off.

At the end of 2024 I noticed that several of the members inside my Online Business Academy for Podcasters were experiencing frustration around this topic... and that got my brain working on creating a solution!

This eventually led to a new tool (a simple Google Doc) that I created called The Less But Better Simplification Filter.

The academy members (and myself) have been using this tool with great success and I wanted to break it down for you here today.

*NOTE: If you want a copy of the Less But Better Simplification Filter tool that I created just reply to this email and let me know.

Here is how to go through the Less But Better Simplification Filter process:

✅ Step One: Make a list of everything that is feeling H.A.L.F. (hard, annoying, lame, & frustrating).

This list should include anything from your podcasting or online business processes that make you puke in your mouth a little bit every time you have to do them.

✅ Step Two: Narrow your H.A.L.F. list down to the top THREE.

These are the tasks that we are going to consider either delegating or pressing the PAUSE button on for one month.

    Ask yourself these important questions:

➡️ 1. If you were to pause these activities for one month how would that make you feel?

➡️ 2. How much time would this save you?

➡️ 3. Are there any potential negative aspects of pausing these activities that you should consider?

✅ Step Three: Choose at least ONE of these items to either pause or delegate for the next month.

I want you to really commit to this or it will not work!

✅ Step Four: Make a list of everything that is feeling E.L.F. (easy, lucrative, & fun).

This is a list of all of the activities that give you the same feeling as when the recess bell used to ring back in elementary school!

✅ Step Five: Narrow this list down to the top THREE.

    Ask yourself this important question:

If you had extra time to focus on these activities how would that feel and what could potentially happen?

✅ Step Six: Choose at least ONE of the E.L.F. activities.

You will take the new chunk of time you are saving from the things you paused on the H.A.L.F. list and reinvest that time into the E.L.F. list activity.

Pro Tip: Go right into your calendar and block off a chunk of time to make sure you do this!

So let's go through an example of how this process has directly impacted me.

My H.A.L.F list items that I chose to put on pause were focused on video content creation:

    🤮 TikTok/IG videos

    🤮 YouTube content

    🤮 Livestreaming content

I felt ALL of the same industry FOMO that you all feel about video content, but I chose to just put these on pause for one month. I knew I could always go back to these activities if needed.

I took the HOURS that I saved and reinvested that time in:

😍 Curating a better newsletter each week.

😍 Promoting the newsletter as my main lead magnet to grow my list.

😍 Figuring out how to run ads on FB/IG to generate opt ins for my newsletter.

😍 Figuring out how to sell a one time special offer to new newsletter subscribers to cover the costs of running daily ads.

The positive results are pouring in including adding, on average, about 400 new newsletter subscribers per month....

and I'm making more money from the intro offer than I'm spending on my daily ad spend.......

this is called getting paid to grow my email list!

Have I missed creating video content...NOPE!....LOL!

Now that I've typed this all of this out... it has me thinking that it might be fun to do a little paid group challenge on this topic so I can support you as you go through the same process.

If that sounds like something you would be into....hit REPLY and let me know!

🎤 Podcasting Business School Episode 567: Strategies for podcast growth & monetization (Live Coaching Episode).

In the first part of this coaching episode I invited one of my certified podcast growth coaches to sit in the coaching seat and teach a Podcasting Business School audience member about podcast growth strategies.

In the second part of this episode I do a podcast audit focused on various podcast monetization strategies including a membership model that I would start off with if I was starting over today.

📈 Download Growth Club question of the week:

"What is the correct way to use a podcast intro swap audio clip?"

Podcast intro swaps are a fun and easy technique where:

Podcaster #1 records a show intro for Podcaster #2's show....and vice versa.

You include a small plug for your own show in the intro.

Here is the format I typically recommend for where to place this audio:

    1. Normal podcast intro audio.

    2. Podcast intro swap audio.

    3. Start the show.

I basically want the intro swap audio to happen right before the actual podcast content starts.

🚀 Podcast Launch Tip of the week:

Many podcasters launch their show thinking that they should use a season format.

Here is where podcast seasons actually make sense:

👉 If you have a show with a variety of changing topics...usually a storytelling podcast.

You cover story #1 in season #1....etc.

For pretty much ALL other types of podcasts I would NOT recommend seasons.

I see a LOT of podcasters that launch season #1......and never get back to doing season #2 after their "break".

⭐️ In episode 089 of Podcast Launch Tips I do a deep dive on why I do NOT recommend doing seasons for your podcast.

🤩 Client testimonial of the week: My client Lacey Baxter has a show called Funnel Building Strategies for Online Business Owners.

Check out what he has to say about working with me inside of me:

"I hired Adam to help me launch my podcast. I wanted to launch with confidence. I wanted to nail the title of my show, the artwork, the description, and come up with an episode plan that I felt good about. That is EXACTLY what we were able to do by working together. I actually got a new customer from the podcast on the FIRST DAY that it went live!"
